[Hyundai Construction Gyedong Building] German Film Blind System DERSCHUTZ; Greenhouse Gas Reduction and Eco-friendly Energy Savings

Climate change is having a significant impact on countries worldwide, and even a 1-degree increase in temperature can lead to the melting of polar ice caps and a rise in sea levels.
Low-lying countries are at risk of losing their land due to rising sea levels.
Experts warn that under the current conditions, it may take 40 years for the ice caps to melt, resulting in irreversible and catastrophic events worldwide.
In response to these climate environmental changes, proactive and environmentally friendly management is being pursued.
The eco-friendly insulation energy film blind system ‘DERSCHUTZ’ is being installed at Hyundai Construction Gyedong Building, which has been consecutively selected for two years in the Climate Change Hall of Fame (CDP Korea’s top climate change group) for its active and proactive environmentally friendly practices.

The main cause of climate change is greenhouse gases, primarily generated during the production of energy. The most environmentally friendly way to reduce greenhouse gases is to conserve energy and minimize emissions during the energy production process.
To combat climate change, it’s essential to take proactive steps at both the individual and societal levels.
This can range from simple daily practices like not using plastic water bottles, unplugging electronic devices, and using energy-efficient products to larger-scale efforts such as using bicycles and public transportation. Additionally, adopting eco-friendly passive energy-saving products can significantly contribute to reducing energy consumption and protecting the climate.

Hyundai Construction is implementing environmentally friendly energy management and has been selected as the top group for climate change (CDP Korea selection)

As part of these efforts, Hyundai Construction, a company recognized for its environmental initiatives by the most reliable sustainability indicator, ‘CDP Climate Change,’ has installed eco-friendly heat-insulating transparent blinds, DERSCHUTZ, at the Hyundai Construction Headquarters.
This installation not only contributes to environmental protection and reduces energy consumption but also leads to cost savings.
Additionally, it provides a clear view of the external environment, improving the working environment for occupants and enhancing overall efficiency in the workplace.

With the installation of the top-grade heat-reflective transparent blind system, DERSCHUTZ, at the Hyundai Construction Headquarters, there are high expectations for various benefits of Hyundai Construction’s Green Campaign, including energy savings in cooling and increased efficiency for occupants in a building that requires a significant amount of heating energy.
The DERSCHUTZ film blind system is a reflective special metal film blind system (solar heat gain coefficient SHGC 0.09) that minimizes the solar heat entering through the windows, thereby reducing cooling loads in the summer
It reflects over 80% of the incoming solar radiation during the summer, resulting in approximately a 50% reduction in cooling loads.
Depending on the installation location and method, it can achieve cooling effects of up to 6 degrees Celsius without the use of air conditioning.
Customers who choose DERSCHUTZ actively contribute to environmental protection by controlling one of the most critical factors in carbon emissions and climate change, which is cooling energy.
